The first vines of Fiano in Italy would have been brought by the Greeks who in the 8th century BC. they founded numerous colonies in southern Italy. In Puglia it spread thanks to Charles II of Anjou who had a thousand plants imported from Cava dei Tirreni to Gargano. Today this vine has found a good location in the clayey-calcareous soils of the Murgia Barese.
Visually it is appreciated a straw yellow color with golden reflections.
The nose reveals pleasant notes of white flowers with hints of green apple, on the palate the olfactory sensations return in good balance between freshness and flavor.
Adaptable to a large number of dishes: fish based, even grilled, seafood, white meats; also ideal with different types of salads (octopus and potatoes), fresh cheeses, buffalo mozzarella, pizzas and focaccias.
